Meridian plots small-group expeditions across thirty-six countries — led by working guides, scientists, and chefs who live the terrain. No coach buses. No buffet lines. Three weeks at altitude, or four nights at sea level. The route is plotted before you arrive.
Six weeks before departure, you receive a printed almanac specific to your route — weather, geology, flora, the politics of the watershed, six recipes you'll meet on the trail.
Our outfitter packs and ships a route-tuned kit (boots, layering, packs, lamp) ten days out. You break them in on your own time; we collect them on return.
The night before, your guides host a long dinner. Maps come out. Loads are weighed. You learn each other's names. By morning, the route is no longer abstract.
Meridian sent me into the High Atlas with four mules and a guide who could name every plant we passed. I came back changed in ways I am still learning to describe.
